Talbots

I’m surprised there aren’t more companies out there like Talbots.  What’s so different about Talbots you ask?  Well, not to insult anyone because businesses make the decisions they feel are best for them but Talbot’s simply uses better fabric than the rest of the specialty retailer / catalog companies out there.  Where most companies use polyester, Talbots uses silk.  Where one company will use a stiff, crappy cotton Talbots will use a beautiful airy cotton lawn.

A few years back Talbots tried to go “hip and trendy” but luckily for women of a certain age they went back to doing what they do best: classic apparel.

They also have great sales BUT if you’re not a frequent Talbot’s shopper be forewarned: they have 2 sections on their site for reductions: SALE & OUTLET – you’re usually safe if you want to wait for something to reach “The Sale” portion of their site but waiting for it to hit “The Outlet” part of their site is probably not wise if it’s a style you really want.

In closing, I would like to point out: all computer screens are different in how they show color but it’s been my experience that Talbot’s clothing is much lighter in person than it appears on their website.
