Michael Kors Plus Size Embellished Tunic

December 21, 2009

I’ve been quite hard on the Michael Kors Plus Size line here at affinityfashion.com so when a new style popped up on the Nordstrom website that I found attractive I thought the least I could do is feature it here:

I often find the styles done under the Michael Kors plus size banner to be off in terms of prints and/or color but I think they got this one right with its pretty classic sapphire blue color and tasteful white beaded embellishment – while it’s not cutting edge by any means it is a very nice, classic and wearable style.

This is not bad. I don’t know if I’m going to buy it. I would like to see Kors’ secondary lines fall more in line with what he shows on the runway (read: give me sheath dresses in great colors).

Secondary lines are much more appealing, IMO, if that’s the case. For instance, I’m more likely to get Lauren Ralph Lauren if it follows along the lines of its purple label Collection or the black label.

You said it:

. . . but I fear if we held our breath waiting for that at best we’d turn blue and at worst we would keel over and die.

I saw Kors the other night on some entertainment show hawking his new fragrance and I just thought: Ugh! Can you get involved in your plus size line and get that RIGHT before branching off into fragrance?

I can never decide if it angers me more or saddens me more.

I couldn’t agree more – most of the time when I visit the Ralph Lauren website I take a peek at the higher end Lauren lines and just want to weep that more often than not there is NOTHING similar when I click on “WOMEN” :(
