Hello!  My name is Karen and I am currently the sole writer here at affinityfashion.com I am also the owner of the retail site 14to24w.com and that site is essentially the reason why this site was started . . .

When I started selling plus size clothing online back in 2004 the choices for the upscale plus size woman were quite good: Dana Buchman, Ellen Tracy, Oscar de la Renta, DKNY, Tamotsu, Sunny Choi . . . the list goes on.

Well, the great majority of my inventory came from upscale department stores and over the years we lost DKNY and Tamotsu and as most of you know we recently lost Dana Buchman and shortly after: Ellen Tracy.

I went from having my pick of beautiful upscale designer plus size clothing and proudly selling those clothes on my site to becoming increasingly embarrassed by the poor selection I had to offer and when I am able to get some great styles from Lafayette 148 or Eileen Fisher they usually sell out pretty quickly and upset the many customers who lose out.  I felt (through no fault of my own) that I was letting my customers down and wanted to try and do something to help my customers and all of the plus size women out there who have been insulted and ignored throughout the years.

My normal customer tends to be quite busy – she doesn’t have time to visit Saks, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Neiman Marcus, Macys and Bloomingdales everyday orpour through the hundreds of plus size tops on the internet to find the few that might suit her taste or look through the hundreds of dresses available online to find the one that is made of silk as opposed to polyester or rayon – so hopefully this site will act as a bit of shortcut for her.
